The port of embarkation in Milazzo is the marina del Nettuno (constructed in 2001). Within walking distance from the port are numerous stores, a large MerSì Supermarket, restaurants, a daily fish market, the town center, the castle, and a promenade along the water. The port of Milazzo is ideal for embarkation due to its proximity to the Aeolian Islands (13 nautical miles to Vulcano, 17 nautical miles to Lipari). Milazzo is 130 km from Catania (2 hours by automobile) and 200 km from Palermo (3 hours by automobile).**
