Tropea has many notable building from the middleages, including the Norman Cathedral dell’ Assunta. Tropea offers many unique produce including sheep's milk cheese (ricotta, caciotte, and mozzarelle), spicy pork soppressata and nduja, and the famous, sweet Tropea red onion. Tropea has a large marina, located near the city.
