A very popular sailing charter destination in Sicily is the Aegadian Island Archipelago. The Aegadian Islands (known as the isole egadi in Italian) are located offshore of Trapani and Marsala in the western part of Sicily, and accessible only by boat - either by ferry or yacht rental. These islands are famous for their extensive natural marine reserve and proliferate tuna fishery.

The Aegadian archipelago consists of the three inhabited islands: Favignana, Marettimo, Levanzo and the small uninhabited offshore islands of Formica, Maraone, and Porcelli. The waters around the islands are divided into different zones of the marine reserve. |
