Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands and offers a secure harbour and spectacular anchorages, including the white pumice beach.
Lipari is the main island of the Aeolain archipelago. A large, secure port (the Marina di Porto Salvo) can be found at Lipari. Within walking distance from the port is the old town center, a small castle, an archaeological museum, and numerous stores and restaurants. Malvasia wines are produced in the vineyards of Lipari and are a popular tourist purchase. Lipari is famous for its pumice white sand beaches.**
