Lipari boat charter of the Aeolian Islands, Sicily
The Aeolian island of Lipari lies just 1 nautical mile north of Vulcano, 3 nm south of Salina, and 9 nm southwest of Panarea. The Sicilian towns of Sant'Agata di Militello, Portorosa, and Milazzo are just south of Lipari. The town of Tropea in Calabria is 46 nm to the east.

Lipari is the main island of the Aeolian archipelago. A large, secure port (the Marina di Porto Salvo) can be found at Lipari. Within walking distance from the port are the old town center, a small castle, an archaeological museum, and numerous stores and restaurants. Malvasia wines are produced in the vineyards of Lipari and are a popular tourist purchase. Lipari is famous for its pumice white sand beaches.

To NOT miss: the Aeolian Archaeological Museum and park located in the castle, the cathedral, the recently restored Marina Corta, the old church of Quattropani, the cave of Caolino and the pumice caves. A boat tour of the island to visit the white pumice beach of Porticello with sparkling turquoise water and the Southwest coast with its interesting offshore islands and sea arches. The most important festival in the Aeolian Islands is held on Lipari in honor of the Patron Saint San Bartolomeo on August 24th. The fireworks show is at midnight. Marina Lunga is also very lively on the 18th of July for the festival of Porto Salvo.
