Salina holiday in the Aeolian Islands, Sicily
The island of Salina is at the center of the archipelago. It lies just 3 nautical miles north of Lipari, 10 nm east of Filicudi, and 9 nm west of Panarea. The Sicilian towns of Sant'Agata di Militello and Milazzo are just 30 nm to the south of Salina:

Salina is known as the "greenest" of the Aeolian Islands and is the site of the famous Italian film: "Il Positano" (The Postman). Salina is the second largest island of the archipelago after Lipari. Salina has two predominant mountain peaks that are green with vegetation. Santa Marina in Salina offers a large, secure port. Within walking distance from the port are numerous stores and restaurants. In Santa Marina we recommend the restaurant of Mamma Santina, which offers traditional Sicilian cuisine and fresh seafood. Rinella and Malfa in Salina both have small docks. It is possible to anchor offshore of the city of Lingua and enjoy Sicilian Granita at the bar da Alfredo within sight of your yacht. The family owned and operated bar da Alfredo has been serving Granita since 1971, with flavors such as watermelon, peach, pistachio, almond, coffee, lemon, fig, melon, strawberry, berry, and chocolate. Salina is also famous for the production of capers (capperi) and Malvasia wines are produced in the vineyards of Salina.

To NOT miss: the town of Lingua and the renowned Bar Da Alfredo, which serves famous Sicilian Granita, the salt lake at Punta Lingua with Roman wall remains, and the small picturesque town of Rinella. A boat tour around the island to visit the bay of Pollara, which is particularly beautiful at sunset. Hiking in the nature reserve on the "Monte dei Porri" . The two most important festivals of Salina are the Patron Saint day of Santa Marina on the 17th of July, and the Capper Festival in Pollara the first Sunday of June.
