Milazzo boating vacation to the Aeolian Islands, Sicily

Milazzo is the perfect base for a boating vacation to the Aeolian Islands. Milazzo is located at the isthmus of the Cape of Milazzo, a strategic port location that has been utilized since antiquity.  The most prominent feature of the city is the Castle, a National Monument.  During a scenic tour of the castle one can observe the ancient Spanish walls, Cathedral, Giurati Palace, Aragonese Walls, and inner Keep.  The tour finishes on the roof of the Keep with an incredible 360 degree view of the city of Milazzo, the capo of Milazzo, the Aeolian Islands, Tindari, and Mt. Etna in the distance. 

Within walking distance from the boat berths are numerous stores, a large Supermarket, restaurants, a daily fish market, the town center, the castle, and a promenade along the water.  The port of Milazzo is ideal for embarkation due to its proximity to the Aeolian Islands (13 nautical miles to Vulcano, 17 nautical miles to Lipari).  Milazzo is 130 km from Catania (2 hours by automobile) and 200 km from Palermo (3 hours by automobile).
