Tindari boating, beaches, and Greek ruins in Sicily

Tindari is located 35 km west of Milazzo on a cliff overlooking the Aeolian Islands, the city of Barcellona to the east and the city of Cefalu to the west.  Tindari is famous for both impressive Greek ruins of Tyndaris and the sanctuary with the black Madonna.  The sands of Marinello, in the shape of a Madonna, are visible from the plaza in front of the sanctuary.  Anchorage is permitted outside of the nature preserve of Marinello.
